The Country Coordinating Mechanism of Rwanda is a national, multi-sectoral body founded in 2002 for coordinating and mainstreaming GF-supported activities in the Republic of Rwanda. The goal of the CCM-RW is to contribute to the strengthening of measures to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Rwanda.
It manages and contributes to better outcomes of GF-funded programs and projects and maintains effective coordination between Global Fund-related activities. The CCM-RW utilizes existing public sector mechanisms, civil society organizations, private sector and international multilateral and bilateral agencies dealing with AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria to promote effective services, prevent duplication of efforts and support coordinating mechanisms involving different stakeholders.
The organization and operation of the CCM-RW and its Secretariat involves introducing and enforcing internal rules and procedures, selection, election and/or renewal of CCM-RW membership and introduction of members and alternates into the CCM-RW, management of the committees and Technical Working Groups, management of the CCM-RW Secretariat, and evaluation of the CCM-RW activities. The CCM-RW is responsible for the organization of its activities under the guidance of the CCM-RW Chair. The CCM-RW Secretariat is responsible for providing administrative and logistical support to the operations of the CCM-RW, its committees and Technical Working Groups, under the guidance of the Chair.
